Hi @KKill,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thank you for reaching out. We understand how confusing it is when your HP notebook shows “Battery Calibration Not Available” for a new replacement battery. This usually happens because modern HP laptops and batteries use Smart Battery technology, and calibration is not always required or supported.
Why Calibration May Not Be Available
- Many HP notebooks with Windows 11 and UEFI BIOS no longer include a manual calibration option.
- HP’s newer batteries are pre-calibrated and managed by firmware and the OS.
- If the battery health is good and charging works normally, calibration is unnecessary.
What You Can Do
1. Check Battery Health
- Open HP Support Assistant → Battery Check.
- Or run HP Hardware Diagnostics:
- Press Esc → F2 during startup → select Component Tests → Battery.
2. Update BIOS and Drivers
- Go to Official HP® Support.
- Enter your notebook model → download the latest BIOS and HP System Utility updates.
3. Perform a Battery Reset
- Shut down the laptop.
- Disconnect the AC adapter.
- Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect and restart.
4. Use Windows Battery Optimization
- Go to Settings → Power & Battery → Battery Health.
- Enable Battery Saver and let the battery discharge to 5–10%, then recharge fully.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
