HP Spectre x360 16 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 16-f0000 (39R25AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello:  So, I have had this Spectre for three years.  In that time I have had the Battery recalibration error a few times.  First time,  it was under warranty and I sent to HP.  New battery was installed in early 2024 (18 months into owning).  Less than 5 months later, again, Battery Recalibration error.  Manual recalibration failed.  Sent in (still under carepack) Battery, once again replaced.  About six months ago (six months into the second battery replacement) Battery Calibration error.  Did the Manual Recalibration, continually for about 5 days...and error message disappeared.  Now six months later, Battery recalibration error again.  I did the recalibration steps for days in a row....going into third week.  I have Done all the steps suggested on all the other posts.  Truly.  Bios, UP TO DATE.  Ran a battery check report...nothing seems odd about it.  I have also deleted the drive under Device Manager-Batteries, Run Hardware System tests by doing the Esc during Start up. It also says battery passed recalibration needed.  I have uninstalled and re-installed HP Support Assistant.  Error message continues.  What on earth am I to do?  Just ignore this?  I have literally had 3 batteries installed in three years.  HELP.  Thanks.

@MG50TN, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check Battery Health
Run this in Command Prompt to see battery condition:
powercfg /batteryreport
Look for big differences between “design capacity” and “full charge capacity.”

Reset the Laptop’s Power System (Embedded Controller)

Turn off your laptop.

Unplug the charger.

Hold the power button for 15-20 seconds.

Plug charger back in and turn it on.

Run Battery Calibration from BIOS
Restart and press Esc or F2 during startup to enter BIOS or diagnostics. Look for a battery calibration option and run it.

Check for Updates
Go to HP’s website and update your BIOS, battery firmware, and power management drivers.

Try a Clean Boot
Boot Windows with minimal programs running to make sure nothing is interfering.

Factory Reset Windows (if nothing works)
Backup your files and reset Windows to fix any software problems.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
