Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

percentage is shown in taskbar but no estimate time. I need that for work. I have no idea whether it is 8hrs or 1hr left, and I do know well that it may change by display brightness, CPU usage and so on, but as long as i am constantly working same stuff i want to know when i need my charger.

Could you please tell me how to activate this feature. It is a workstation for professionals and should have that feature.

Best,

M.

Hi,

Windows 10 (1709) shows the battery estimate time when you keep the cursor on the battery icon for 1-2 seconds.

If Windows is not showing the remaining time of battery then it shall be disabled in bios.

  1. Shut down your notebook.
  2. Press f10 button repeatedly as soon as you press the power button.
  3. Move to System configuration tab.
  4. Select and enable Battery Time Remaining option.
  5. Click here for the pictorial guide.

I have a zbook g4. The BIOS menu doesnt offer that option nor the mentioned tab. The menu is much different from the pictoral guide.

Hi,

After some googling, I found that Microsoft and HP have disabled this feature for some notebook PCs.

Did you try the first method to keep the cursor on battery icon for 1-2 seconds? I think it works great.

Here I attached a screenshot of my notebook.

I have some basic solutions

>>Try changing the battery plan from the control panel. (for win10(1709) move the battery slider).

>>Update windows.

>>Update battery driver

     Press windows button + X

     Select Device manager.

update all components under the battery.

- Changing Battery Plan doesnt help

- Windows is updated. Large company, so they pay attention on updates.

- Device Drivers are updated

Although unfortunately they changed from DELL to HP notebooks, no one knows how to solve this issue. Maybe soon there is a change back and i dont have to waste time on issues like this. DELL seems much more pro to me.
