Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I have purchased a brand new HP laptop (HP Pavillion 15 Intel core17 1165G7). The problem is, the battery remains constant after plugging the charger out. I was using it yesterday, it was 97% when i plugged out the charger, then i kept on using for 3 odd hours and then it remained the same 97% throughput and then suddenly turned off after 3-4 hours.

How do i fix this? This is a brand new laptop so there should not be any issue.

Please help.

Thank you.

Kind regards,

Muhammad Ameen

Hello @moameen29 .
Simultaneously press the Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
Click next to Batteries to expand the battery options.
Figure : Device Manager.

With the expanded options, right click on each ACPI option (for older versions of Windows) and for newer versions is to right click on Battery with Microsoft ACPI compatible control method and select Uninstall .

Figure : Uninstall ACPI options.

Restart the computer.

Calibrate the battery:

Either perform the preferred method or perform manual calibration, as they are the most effective:

I uninstalled the driver and then restarted the system again, nothing changed. It's still the same full battery and i am not seeing any drainage in the battery icon, after few hours the laptop suddenly turns off. Why is that? It is a brand new laptop which i just purchased only 3 days ago that too of 1000 Euros from here in Italy. Kindly help me out to resolve it. This is just unbelievable. I don't even know when to connect the charger in since i don't have any drainage shown up on battery icon.

@moameen29 .

The power drain is suitable for a hardware restart or hard reset to be performed, and this does not erase personal information.
Many boot errors and other problems can be solved by reducing the stored energy of hardware components. This procedure of reducing stored energy is also known as a hard reset.
o Turn off the computer.
o Disconnect the computer from any port replicators or docking stations.
o Disconnect all peripheral devices, such as USB storage devices, external displays, or printers.
o Disconnect the AC adapter from the computer.
o Turn the computer over and look for the battery compartment door to determine whether or not your computer's battery is removable.
o Now to consume any residual electrical charge from the capacitors protecting the memory, perform the following as it is the basics of this:
If you see an access door to the battery compartment, your equipment has a removable battery. Remove the battery, press and hold the power button for 15 seconds, reinsert the battery back into the compartment and proceed to the next step.
If you do not see any access door to the battery compartment, your computer does not have a removable battery. On most laptops with a non-removable battery, press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to complete the restart and proceed to the next step. 1. Reconnect the AC adapter to the computer, but do not connect any peripheral devices.
2. Turn on the computer.
If a startup menu opens, use the arrow keys to select Start Windows normally and then press enter.
3. Once the peripheral devices are connected, run Windows Update and HP Support Assistant to update all drivers and the system.

But why is there a need to perform hard reset? Are you sure it's not a big fault? Considering this a brand new laptop, I don't understand the point here!

@moameen29 .

It is not a mistake, in this process that I provided you with, no personal data is deleted, much less the system is restored.
