HP Notebook - 15g-dr0006tx
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello

I bought my HP notebook in 2020. It has been 7 months since I last changed replaced my battery. Recently, there is this issue that my laptop is not charging beyond 64%.  There is no problem showing anything related to battery. Once I use and again charge, it all works well and fine until it reaches 64%. How can I solve this problem?

In battery there  are 2-3 cell, if one of cell has been dead or have any malfunction, then it stop charging on a specific battery percentage.

its will be solved by changing the battery.

Hello Terdeage,

(1) Open

Windows Device Manager

  >> Batteries

    >> right-click Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery

      >> click Uninstall device

(2) Then shutdown your computer, plugin your AC adapter and wait 2 hours

(3) Start your notebook operating system, Windows will automatically reinstall it, no worry.

Please report your results.

best regards

I did what you told but it didn't work. The limit started to decrease more, at first it was 64%, then 50% now it has dropped to 30% so I have decided to replace the battery.
Thank you for the suggestion. 🙂

Hello @Terdeage

The battery is a wearing part which must be replaced after the charging cycles specified by the manufacturer.

However, cells can also become defective prematurely and greatly shorten the battery's service life.

Good luck
