My HP Support Assistant keeps telling me to calibrate the battery and gives me the instructions but it never works. The results just say try it again. HELP!

- When was the last time it was working fine?

- Were there any changes made to your HP support assistant application recently?

Hello Irwin6, thanks for responding. I am facing no other issues besides being unable to calibrate the battery. The battery calibration instructions have NEVER worked for me. Every time I run computer diagnostics, I get the same results, "the battery is working correctly but needs to be calibrated". I am not aware of any changes being made to my HP support assistant application.

Thank you for sharing the above information.

 

Update the BIOS for your PC by clicking on the link.

 

Make sure you keep only the charger plugged in while updating the BIOS for your PC.

Click on the + sign next to BIOS and then download the file.

Open the file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.

 

If the issue still persists, refer to the steps on this link to further troubleshoot and let me know if that resolves the issue.

Hello Irwin6, I followed the instructions in your previous post and the BIOS has been updated. I ran the battery test again after restarting my laptop and got the same "needs calibration" message. I followed the instructions again to calibrate the battery and the calibration failed again. Larry H
