Hi @pap1963 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your specific HP Pavilion x360 model (14-cd0024nl) might not have a dedicated BIOS setting for battery charge limit, you might still be able to achieve this using the following options:

1. HP Battery Health Manager:

  • Turn on your laptop.
  • Press the F10 key repeatedly while the computer starts up to enter the BIOS Setup Utility.
  • Navigate using the arrow keys to the Advanced tab (or Configuration tab depending on your BIOS version).
  • Look for Power Management Options.
  • Select Battery Health Manager and choose Maximize my battery health. This setting limits the maximum charge level to 80% to improve battery lifespan.
  • Save changes and exit BIOS.

Additional notes:

  • If you cannot find the Battery Health Manager option in BIOS, your model might not support it.
  • Using the Maximize My Battery Life option in the Battery Health Manager will allow the battery to charge to 100%, prioritizing maximum runtime over long-term battery health.
  • It's important to maintain good charging habits like avoiding extreme temperatures and keeping the battery partially charged for extended storage periods to maximize its lifespan regardless of the charge limit settings.

I hope this information helps!
