Microsoft Windows 11

Hi all,

I am facing this problem: I have updated my laptop (BIOS, ordinary Windows updates and many drivers), after that, the system wasn't detecting the battery any longer. So I did an hard reset and now the battery is detected but sticking at "100% charge", that means the system won't charge it and indeed it's now completely drained (but still the icon says 100%).
I tried many stuff:

  1. Hard reset
  2. Uninstalling and reinstalling Microsoft ACPI drivers
  3. Disconnecting the battery
  4. Other stuff I don't even remeber

I am pretty sure it is a (maybe complex) software/driver problem. Indeed, battery has less than one year and it was perfectly working before the updates. Also, if I run a powercfg check for the battery I get Design Capacity  -1mWh  which of course is an error.

Is there anyone that can help me with this?
Appreciated!

May I know from when are you facing this issue?

Did you make any hardware or software-related changes to it?

I would suggest you please use the link below and run the hardware scan. Once done, let me know the outcome of it: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_2854458-2733239-16
