What if I keep a laptop charger always plugged in using it or not? It is safe or not.

Sorry to hear that you are having problems ... I would like to help you.

If the HP BIOS has the "Maximize Battery Health" feature it is safe.

 

I want the check your current system configuration.

 

(1) Run    msinfo32

- Select <System Summary>:

- copy/paste to following key/values pairs:

 

OS Name

Version

System Model

System SKU ( equals HP product number (p/n) )

BIOS Version/Date


(2Please report your results

(1) Download and install BIOS Update

(3) Let BIOS be installed until it's completely done !

(1) Turn off the computer and wait five seconds

(2) Turn on the computer, and then immediately press the [ESC] key repeatedly until the Startup Menu opens

(3) Press [F10] to open the BIOS Setup Utility

--->>> Look for the following settings

(A) Old HP BIOS

> System Configuration > Battery Care Function <80%>
> System Configuration > Battery Care Function <50%>

 

(B) New HP BIOS

> Advanced > [x] Power Control [ Maximize my battery health ]

 

(4) Please report your results

Recommendation

Do not leave the battery permanently at 100% capacity when the charger is connected.

-> Use the battery (from time to time) and let it discharge to 30% capacity, then recharge it.

-> Use <windows shutdown sleep mode> without the charger connected to slowly discharge the battery overnight.

-> Observe the behavior of the battery for a few weeks ...
