Hi @Sai555,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP laptop's battery is experiencing calibration issues or may be faulty. Here are some steps to diagnose and potentially fix the issue.

Battery Calibration:

  • Fully Charge the Battery: Charge your laptop battery to 100%.
  • Discharge the Battery: Use your laptop until it completely discharges and shuts down.
  • Recharge the Battery: Charge it back to 100% without interruption.

Battery Health Check:

  • Use HP Hardware Diagnostics: HP laptops often come with built-in diagnostic tools. Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears. Then, press F2 to open the System Diagnostics. Perform a battery test.

Update BIOS and Drivers:

  • Update BIOS: Ensure your laptop's BIOS is up-to-date. You can download the latest BIOS update from the HP support website.
  • Update Battery Drivers: Go to Device Manager, expand the "Batteries" section, right-click on "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery," and select "Uninstall." Restart your laptop, and Windows will automatically reinstall the drivers.

Check Battery Settings:

  • Battery Saver Mode: Make sure the battery saver mode is not interfering with the battery's performance. Adjust settings under Settings > System > Battery.

Power Management Settings:

  • Go to Control Panel > Power Options and make sure your power plan settings are not causing the issue.

Physical Battery Check:

  • If your laptop has a removable battery, try reseating it. Ensure the battery contacts are clean.

Use Battery Diagnostic Software:

  • Software like BatteryInfoView or HWMonitor can provide detailed information about your battery's health, charge cycles, and current status.

Consider Battery Replacement:

  • If the issue persists, the battery might be degraded. Laptop batteries typically last between 2-3 years. If your laptop is older or heavily used, consider replacing the battery.

By following these steps, you can identify if the issue is a software glitch, calibration problem, or a failing battery. If it turns out to be a hardware issue, replacing the battery is usually a straightforward solution.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
