Hello,

I believe I have all the latest updates on my Windows 11 pavilion laptop. However, I do not see the toggle under power and battery where i can turn it on. Should I go to my Windows update page and see if I am missing any important updates for the computer? Thanks!

@emg1279,

Thank you for checking in -again!

Keeping your system updated is always a good first step. The “Power & Battery” options you’re looking for (such as the toggle you mentioned) can depend not only on Windows updates but also on:

  • The exact Pavilion model number and its hardware,

  • HP-specific drivers/utilities (such as HP Power Manager),

  • Graphics driver support (for features like Dynamic Refresh Rate).

That means two similar Pavilion laptops can sometimes show slightly different options.

Could you share your laptop’s full model or product number (p/n)? You can find it by typing in: System Information in your lower Windows search bar, then click on the System Information app, and look to the right of "System Model" and "System SKU" and provide that information, or in HP Support Assistant → My devices. With that info, I can point you to the correct drivers/updates and confirm whether that toggle should appear on your system.

Just to clarify — common “toggles” under Power & Battery include:

  • Battery saver toggle → lets you limit background activity and extend battery life.

  • Adaptive brightness toggle → uses the sensor to adjust screen brightness automatically.

  • Dynamic refresh rate toggle (on supported displays) → lets the system switch between 60Hz and 120Hz for efficiency.

If you can let me know which of these you’re trying to enable, that’ll help narrow it down even further!

In the meantime, it’s worth checking:

Bottom line: The toggle isn’t missing because of anything you did wrong -it just depends on your laptop’s exact model and driver set. Once I know your product number (and which toggle you mean), I can get you pointed in the right direction.

Kind Regards,
