HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15m-cn0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So my HP ENVY laptop, no matter what settings I choose, will tell me battery level is low then immediately go to sleep. So I have to turn it back on and plug it in. It's very annoying.

In settings\battery

Sleep is set to never on battery power

Battery saver turns on at 20%

Then it's supposed to lower screen brightness

In power options the plan settings are never turn off display and never put the computer to sleep on either plugged in or battery.

In advanced power settings

Critical battery notifications are on for both B&P

Critical battery action on B - sleep

P- do nothing

Low battery level is 20% for both B&P

Critical battery level is 5%

Low battery notification is on for both B&P

Low battery action is set to do nothing for B&P

Reserve battery level is 30% for both B&P

---------

This last time I watched the battery level. Once it hit 20% it did give me the notification but simultaneously goes to sleep so it's like it's incorrectly correlating critical battery action with low battery level.

I wonder should I try switching the battery levels on critical and low??

I'm at a loss here. I'm typically quite savvy with tech but this one broke me.

Changed none of the battery settings except reserve battery level. i changed it to match the critical battery level. then i unplugged the laptop and played skyrim to get it to drain the battery faster (ha)

then it gave me the notification when it hit the low battery level and it didnt shut off.  so for some reason my laptop wants to put it to sleep whenever it hits reserve battery levels. soooo that sucks but at least now i can use my computer away from a wall and not worry that i will lose all my progress.
