Hello,
Am not able to perform BIOS update, notebok came with windows 7, I upgraded it to Windows 10.
When I try to update the BIOS.exe file downloaded from HP support website, I get error for Mountvol.exe few times and then it says BIOS update failed, also tried with usb option provided in that exe file, but it didnt not work.
BIOS is legacy, non UEFI
Will be happy to get a help.
Thank you

Hello, @Bhuvansimpy – Hope you are well 🙂
Thanks for reaching out to HP support forums! I’d like to be of your assistance 🙂
I see that you are facing issues while updating the BIOS on your DV6 notebook. I would recommend you restore the BIOS and then try to update it again. You can follow the steps here to restore your BIOS: http://hp.care/2bXONjA
Once done, try updating the BIOS again and check.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
Good luck 🙂

@DVortex, thank you so much for the reply and procedure to access the BIOS page, I have updated it via USB as I do not have that recovery partition and perhaps the reason I was gettign error for Mountvol.exe
Many thanks 🙂
