Hi BLS1093,

Thanks for reaching out.

Kindly try the following methods to fix the issue before going through rescuing your pictures:

1-Force the computer to shut down 2 times until you get windows Troubleshooting > Advanced Options:

A-Startup repair.

B-If you have a system restore point, perform a system restore.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/recovery-options-in-windows-31ce2444-7de3-818c-d626-e3b5...

C-If you installed any updates recently, uninstall it

D-Click on Command Prompt > Type this command and hit enter:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Once it finishes, type this command and hit enter:
sfc /scannow

Also try boot repair commands:
bootrec /scanos
bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot
bootrec /rebuildbcd

Once it finishes, type this command and hit enter:
chkdsk /r

E-If you have enabled fast boot in UEFI Firmware, disable it:
https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/21284-enable-disable-fast-boot-uefi-firmware-settings-windows.ht...

F-Reset this PC > Keep my files.

2-If it did not help, start your computer in Safe Mode:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-your-pc-in-safe-mode-in-windows-92c27cff-db89-8644...

if you could log in with Safe Mode, open CMD as administrator > Type these commands and hit enter:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Once it finishes, type this command and hit enter:
sfc /scannow

Then, restart your computer and check to see if the issue has been fixed or not.

3-If the issue is still unfixed, try to rescue your data:
