Hi @HappyYear139

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for sharing that—it’s easy to accidentally disable the camera, and I’ll help you get it working again step by step. Here’s how to unblock your camera on a Windows 11 laptop:

🛠️ Step-by-Step Camera Unblock Guide

1. Check Privacy Settings

  • Go to Start > Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.
  • Make sure Camera access is turned On.
  • Also ensure Let apps access your camera is enabled.
  • Scroll down and confirm that the specific app (e.g., Zoom, Teams, Camera) is allowed to use the camera.

2. Check Device Manager

  • Press Windows + X → select Device Manager.
  • Expand Cameras or Imaging Devices.
  • Right-click your camera → choose Enable device (if available).
  • If it’s already enabled, choose Update driverSearch automatically.

3. Check Antivirus or Security Software

  • Some third-party antivirus tools (like Norton or McAfee) may block camera access.
  • Open your antivirus dashboard and look for Privacy or Webcam Protection settings.
  • Temporarily disable webcam protection and test the camera.

4. Keyboard Shortcut or Physical Switch

  • Some HP laptops have a camera kill switch or function key toggle:
    • Look for a camera icon on the keyboard (often F8, F10, or F12).
    • Press Fn + [Camera Key] to toggle it back on.
    • If your model has a physical shutter, slide it open.

5. Test in HP Camera App

  • Open the Camera app from Start.
  • If it shows “Camera is blocked,” it confirms a privacy or driver issue.
  • If it works here but not in other apps, check app-specific permissions.

Let me know what you see after trying these steps—I’ll guide you further if needed.
