how do I correct this

Go to Internet Options Privacy Advanced Check the box for "Override automatic cookie handling" and "Always allow session cookies. Also select "Accept" for First-party Cookies and Third-party Cookies.

Since this is a Win11 PC, my guess is that you are making the mistake of using the MS browser -- Edge -- and the is configured by MS with lots of built-in limitations. I don't use it anymore than I have to.
Try installing and using a different browser -- Firefox or Opera or Vivaldi -- and see if that works better.
