Hi @Hallosys,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Frequent blue screens (BSODs) can result from various issues such as hardware problems, driver conflicts, or software errors. Here's how to address this issue.

Collect Information About the BSODs

  • Note the error codes displayed (e.g., IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, MEMORY_MANAGEMENT).
  • Use the Windows Reliability Monitor or Event Viewer:
    1. Search for Reliability Monitor in the Start menu.
    2. Look for critical events or warnings on days the crashes occurred.

Perform Basic Troubleshooting

  • Restart the Laptop in Safe Mode:
    1. Go to Settings > Recovery > Advanced Startup > Restart now.
    2. Choose Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart.
    3. Select Safe Mode with Networking.
  • Check if the blue screens persist in Safe Mode. If not, it might indicate a driver issue.

Check for Driver Issues

  • Open Device Manager:
    1. Press Windows + X, then select Device Manager.
    2. Look for devices with a yellow exclamation mark.
    3. Right-click on any problematic devices and select Update driver.
  • Update critical drivers:
    • Graphics (AMD/NVIDIA/Intel)
    • Network adapters
    • Storage controller drivers
    • Chipset drivers

Run Diagnostics

  • HP Hardware Diagnostics:
    1. Restart your laptop and press F2 repeatedly at startup.
    2. Select System Tests and perform a Quick Test. If no issues are found, run the Extensive Test.
  • Windows Memory Diagnostic:
    1. Press Windows + R, type mdsched.exe, and hit Enter.
    2. Choose to restart now and check for problems.

Check for Corrupted Files

  • Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run:

sfc /scannow

  • Also, check and repair disk integrity:

chkdsk C: /f /r

Update Windows and BIOS

  • Windows Update:
    1. Go to Settings > Windows Update > Check for Updates.
  • BIOS: Even if you have the latest version, consider reinstalling it to ensure no corruption:
    1. Visit HP Support.
    2. Download and install the BIOS update for your model.

Uninstall Conflicting Software

  • Remove any recently installed software or updates that may conflict with the system:
    1. Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
    2. Uninstall software added before the blue screens started.

Use System Restore

  • Restore to a previous point before the issue began:
    1. Press Windows + R, type rstrui, and hit Enter.
    2. Select a restore point and follow the prompts.

Advanced Diagnostics

If the issue persists:

  • Minidump Analysis:
    1. Minidump files are stored in C:\Windows\Minidump.
    2. Use tools like BlueScreenView to analyze the dumps or upload them for review.
  • Reinstall Windows: As a last resort, perform a clean installation of Windows 11.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
