Laptop model: [ HP ENVY touch smart m6 ]
Operating system: Windows 10
I am experiencing an issue with the Bluetooth feature on my HP laptop(ENVY touch smart m6 ) with serial number(edited)
I purchased this laptop second-hand, and it already had Windows 10 installed. Although the laptop is supposed to support Bluetooth, it is not working properly. The Bluetooth option does not function, and there is no On/Off toggle available in the settings.
I have tried multiple troubleshooting step. Unfortunately, the issue is still not resolved.
Could you please assist me in identifying the cause of this issue and advise on how it can be fixed?
Thank you in advance
Kind regards,
A M

According to the parts list for your notebook, it comes with a Ralink RT3290LE 802.11b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 combination adapter.
The Bluetooth doesn't work on W10, so you will need to use a USB Bluetooth adapter.

Thank you for your response.
I understand that my notebook uses the Ralink RT3290LE Wi-Fi and Bluetooth combo adapter. However, I would like to confirm whether there is any official driver, BIOS update, or compatible solution available to make the built-in Bluetooth work on Windows 10. Since Bluetooth is an integrated feature of the notebook hardware, I would prefer a software or firmware solution rather than using an external USB Bluetooth adapter.
Kind regards,
A M

You're very welcome.
Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do to get the Ralink BT to work.
If your notebook has two antenna wires connected to the Ralink Wi-Fi card, you can try replacing it with one of the two other Bluetooth cards listed in chapter 3 of the service manual used for the models with the AMD processors and chipsets:
Qualcomm QCA9565 802.11bgn 1x1 Wi-Fi + BT4.0 Combo Adapter HP part # 733476-001
Broadcom 4352 + Bluetooth combo w/ 2 antennas (802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0) HP part # 724935-005
The Broadcom card would be an upgrade to Wi-Fi 5.
Chapter 4 of the manual has the Wi-Fi card removal and replacement procedure.

Thank you for the detailed explanation and recommendations regarding the internal hardware replacement options.
As you mentioned hardware changes, I would prefer using a USB Bluetooth adapter instead, as it is easier for me and I do not want to open or modify the laptop hardware.
Thank you for your time and support.
Kind regards,
A M
