During this time, I encountered problems with my Bluetooth mouse (Logitech M535). After several attempts to fix the mouse's unstable behavior, I decided to go through a "Bluetooth Troubleshooting" process to resolve the issue. However, I couldn't find the troubleshooting utility anywhere in Windows 11. Can anyone help?

Hi @rogergr,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

You're not alone; many Windows 11 users get confused because Bluetooth Troubleshooter no longer appears where it used to, and Microsoft has quietly moved/renamed several troubleshooting tools. Let me walk you through where it actually lives now, how to access it, and a few HP‑specific fixes that often stabilize Bluetooth mouse issues.

Where is the Bluetooth Troubleshooter in Windows 11?

Microsoft moved it from Settings → Troubleshoot → Other Troubleshooters, which is why you couldn’t find it.

✔ It still exists, but under a new location:

1. Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters

Scroll down this list, and you should see:

  • Bluetooth → Run

If this item is missing (which happens on many builds), use the next method.

Alternate Way (More Reliable): Built‑in Troubleshooter via Command

You can launch Microsoft’s Bluetooth troubleshooter manually:

Press Win + R → type the following → Enter: msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic

This runs the detailed device/driver diagnostic that includes Bluetooth checks.

2. Windows 11 Diagnostic Tools That Replace the Old Troubleshooter

Microsoft moved most troubleshooters to the Get Help app.

Try this:

  1. Press Win + S
  2. Type Bluetooth is not working
  3. Choose Troubleshoot Bluetooth
  4. Windows launches an interactive diagnostic script

This replaces the older Windows Troubleshooter UI.

The rest of the troubleshooting steps are shared in the next post

Hi @rogergr,

Please follow the troubleshooting steps shared

HP‑Specific Fixes for Bluetooth Mouse Issues
Step 1: Reinstall Bluetooth driver (Fixes 80% of mouse drop issues)

  1. Press Win + X → Device Manager
  2. Expand Bluetooth
  3. Right‑click your Bluetooth adapter (Intel/Realtek/Qualcomm)
  4. Click Uninstall device
  5. Restart your laptop
  6. Windows reinstalls a fresh driver automatically

This resolves corruption caused by updates or failed sleep‑resume cycles.

Step 2: Turn Off Power Saving (VERY Important for Logitech M535)

  1. Device Manager → Bluetooth
  2. Right‑click your Bluetooth Adapter → Properties
  3. Go to Power Management
  4. Uncheck:
“Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”

Do the same for:

  • Human Interface Devices (HID)
  • Any device that mentions Bluetooth LE

Many Logitech mice disconnect when power saving is active.

Step 3: HP UEFI Hardware Test for Wireless Radios

HP’s wireless troubleshooting guide suggests testing hardware using HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (built‑in on HP notebooks).

  1. Turn off the laptop
  2. Power on and immediately press F2
  3. Choose Component Tests → Wireless
  4. Run the Bluetooth radio test

If Bluetooth fails the test → hardware issue → HP support can assist.

Step 4: Remove Logitech Pairing & Re‑pair Fresh

  1. Settings → Bluetooth
  2. Remove Logitech M535
  3. Restart
  4. Hold the mouse pairing button
  5. Pair again

 I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
