I have just purchased a Xiaomi touch-sensitive (no wheel) Bluetooth mouse. When I locate text and pause, it autonomously jumps to another nearby area of text. I tried to make adjustments to the mouse settings, but without success. I have now also updated the power management and the MEI drivers from the chipset located at the HP website, hoping that these would update the Bluetooth driver. But it has not helped. Any ideas?

Thanks for your note. After a little more work, it seems that the mouse was intended for an Apple device, and is consistent with the magic Apple mouse. Apparently, there is a better app than Silky Shark to deal with the lack of stability when using the mouse in Windows 11. It is better because Silk Shark is not supported, It can be found here: https://www.highrez.co.uk/downloads/xmousebuttoncontrol.htm?pubDate=20250911.

@Molisi, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Spectre x360 laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It seems like you're experiencing issues with the behavior of your Xiaomi Bluetooth mouse when used with your HP Spectre x360 laptop. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and address the problem:
Troubleshooting Steps
Bluetooth Driver Update: Ensure that you have the latest Bluetooth drivers specifically for your HP Spectre x360. Sometimes, specific brand laptops have tailored drivers for certain functionalities. Visit the HP Customer Support page and enter your laptop model to find any available driver updates.
Mouse Settings Adjustments:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & Other Devices.
- Click on your mouse and select Options or Properties.
- Look for settings relating to pointer speed, acceleration, or any gestures that could be causing unexpected behavior.
Mouse Software: Check if Xiaomi provides any software for their mouse. Sometimes manufacturers offer dedicated software for managing settings more effectively than Windows default options.
Test on Another Device: Connect the mouse to another device to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the mouse itself or the laptop.
Disable Power Management Features:
- Go to Device Manager > Bluetooth > Right-click on your Bluetooth Hardware > Properties > Power Management tab.
- Ensure the option "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" is not checked.
Windows Update: Ensure that your Windows is fully updated, as certain updates might enhance compatibility and resolve bugs.a
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!

Thank you for your input. I tried the various steps before posting. However, your reply suggested to me that I seek a software solution. I use an AI to help me find the very small app Silky Shark which I downloaded from Softpedia. By disabling all the overlays which control movements, it appears to have improved mouse stability.
