I've had my laptop for about a month now. Mostly it's been good, but I'm having a couple of issues. The one that's causing me the most trouble is that my Bluetooth mouse keeps disconnecting. I'll be using it just normally and suddenly my mouse just stops moving. I've tried it with two different mice. Both have the same issue.
To troubleshoot I downloaded the current BT driver from the HP site, removed the BT controller from Device Manager, including telling it to remove the driver, then reinstalled. The problem actually got worse after reinstalling the drivers.
Other, probably unrelated issues I'm having:
- The wifi adapter takes over a minute to reconnect to wireless when I bring the laptop out of sleep.
- I am not able to use a USB-C to DisplayPort monitor on the USB-C port. (The same monitor works with my MacBook and my SurfacePro.)
- Like I say, those probably aren't related unless maybe this is actually a faulty laptop. What should I try next?

Hi @utahnikonguy,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing such detailed information about what you’ve already tried. I understand how disruptive it can be when your Bluetooth devices keep disconnecting, especially since you’ve tested with multiple mice and reinstalled drivers. Let’s work through this together.
Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi issues can sometimes be linked to outdated BIOS or chipset firmware. Please:
Go to HP Support – Software & Drivers.
Enter your model number (Victus 15-fb3000).
Download and install the latest BIOS and chipset drivers available.
Restart your laptop.
Check Bluetooth Power Management
Sometimes Windows powers down the Bluetooth adapter to save energy.
Press Windows + X → Device Manager.
Expand Bluetooth, right-click your Bluetooth adapter → Properties.
Go to the Power Management tab.
Uncheck “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.”
Click OK.
Adjust Wi-Fi/Bluetooth Coexistence
Since Wi-Fi and Bluetooth both share the 2.4 GHz band, interference may cause disconnections.
In Device Manager → Expand Network adapters.
Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter → Properties → Advanced tab.
Look for a setting like Bluetooth Collaboration or Coexistence. Ensure it’s Enabled.
Windows Updates
Make sure your system is fully updated:
Settings → Windows Update → Check for updates.
Install any pending updates, especially optional driver updates.
USB-C DisplayPort Issue
The USB-C port on your Victus 15 may not support DisplayPort Alt Mode (video out) depending on the exact configuration. Some Victus models only support USB data + power delivery, not video output. You can confirm this in your product’s specification sheet. If video out is required, you may need to connect through HDMI instead.
I hope this helps.
I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍✨
Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

The power setting seems to have fixed the bluetooth issue. I don't know why Windows would try to turn off the bluetooth every couple of minutes when I'm plugged into power to save power, but at least it's working.
On the USB-C, according to the spec sheet here, I should be able to use the USB-C for a display port monitor.
Ports1 USB Type-A 5Gbps signaling rate (HP Sleep and Charge); 1 USB Type-A 5Gbps signaling rate; 1 AC smart pin; 1 HDMI 2.1; 1 headphone/microphone combo; 1 RJ-45; 1 USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate (DisplayPort™ 1.4a, HP Sleep and Charge)
