HP OmniBook X Flip 16 inch 2-in-1 Laptop Next Gen AI PC 16-as0000 (AK4B2AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi

The new laptop cannot detect Bluetooth. Bluetooth is also not detected in Device Manager, even when I display unused devices. A manual driver function and reinstalling Windows did not help either. However, Bluetooth is detected in the HP device test.

Does anyone know what the problem is?

Hi @Aarone1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your OmniBook XY Flip 16 is not detecting Bluetooth in Windows, even though the HP hardware test can see it. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check if Bluetooth is disabled in BIOS

Restart the laptop and tap Esc → F10 to open BIOS.

Go to System Configuration or Advanced → make sure “Wireless”, “WLAN/Bluetooth” or similar options are enabled.

Reset the Bluetooth/WLAN module from BIOS

In BIOS, choose “Restore Defaults” or “Load Setup Defaults”.

Save and restart. This resets the wireless controller settings.

Verify required services in Windows

Press Win + R → type “services.msc”.

Make sure these services are running and set to Automatic:
• Bluetooth Support Service
• Device Association Service

If stopped, start them manually.

Install the correct chipset and Intel Wireless drivers

Go to HP’s driver page for the OmniBook XY Flip 16.

Install/update these in this exact order:

Intel Chipset Installation Utility

Intel Wireless (Wi-Fi + Bluetooth) driver package

Restart after each installation.

Run Windows Troubleshooter

Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters.

Run “Bluetooth” and “Hardware & Devices”.

Check for hidden devices again

Open Device Manager → View → Show hidden devices.

If “Unknown Device” or “Bluetooth” appears greyed out, right-click and uninstall it.

Restart to force Windows to reinstall the BT stack.

Power cycle the system

Shut down the laptop completely.

Hold the power button 15 seconds (EC reset).

Start again and check Device Manager.

I hope this helps.
