I have a victus 16 laptop and mediatek bluetooth drivers.
My bluetooth has been crashing disconnecting all devices and completely dissapearing from the action panel for the past month every 1-5 hours of being on.
Ive tried, resetting the drivers, uninstaling them and installing ones from hp, ive tried bluetooth repair diagnostics , ive turned every battery optimization option into performance and off etc and the only thing that works when Bluetooth dissapears is turning the laptop off via the power button and then turning it on again. This only works for a couple of hours then it happens again.
Today I was playing a game and my computer completely froze and my bluetooth disconnected at the same time. I thought it was because i forgot my balanced mode on instead of performance so i forced shutdown and booted again just for it to happen again in performance mode 20 mins later. Im pretty sure its because of the bluetooth driver crashing and i cant seem to find a single fix.

Hi @Giannistaz
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
I can understand how concerning it is when Bluetooth keeps disappearing, especially when it starts affecting connected devices and coincides with system freezes while gaming. Dont worry I'll do my best to help you with this .
To better understand the issue, could you kindly share:
- Your current Windows version and OS build number (Settings > System > About)
- Are there any warning symbols showing in Device Manager under Bluetooth or Network Adapters when the issue occurs?
- Does the Wi-Fi connection remain stable when Bluetooth disappears, or do both stop working together?
In the meantime, kindly try the below steps and confirm :
1. Reset the Bluetooth Device in Device Manager
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Bluetooth.
- Right-click the MediaTek Bluetooth Adapter and select Uninstall device.
- Check the option to remove the driver if available.
- Restart the notebook.
- Install the latest Bluetooth driver from HP's support page for your model instead of relying solely on Windows Update.
2. Check Power Management Settings
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Bluetooth.
- Open the MediaTek Bluetooth Adapter properties.
- Select the Power Management tab.
- Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
Also perform the same check under the Wi-Fi adapter if it is a MediaTek wireless card.
3. Perform a Network Reset
- Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced Network Settings.
- Select Network Reset.
- Restart the computer.
4. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics
Perform a hardware check to verify the wireless module:
- Turn off the notebook.
- Press the Power button and repeatedly tap F2.
- Run the Wireless Module or Component Tests if available.
Also microsoft has published additional steps specifically for situations where Bluetooth disappears from Windows: Fix Bluetooth disappeared in Windows .
The issue that you have described appears to be related to either the MediaTek wireless module, its driver, power management, or the communication between the wireless adapter and the system firmware.
Since Bluetooth completely disappears from the Action Center and only returns after a full power cycle, Windows may be temporarily losing communication with the Bluetooth hardware itself.
I hope this helps.
I'm an HP Employee.

Hello here is the info you asked for
Windows 11 version: 25H2
OS build number: 26200.9711
There's no warnings in device manager while Bluetooth is working. They only appear after the driver stops working and i have to press view hidden devices to see them.
I dont use wifi so i havent noticed but im pretty sure wifi button remains enabled when this happens.
As I said i've tried the suggested diagnostics and fixes to no avail. I tried all you suggested anyway, issue still persists but I'm mostly worried about the crashes. I get a CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT error and it gets stuck on loading. This could be an issue with the laptop also overheating etc but it only happens with Bluetooth connected and the driver disappearing.
