Probook 440 G2
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hey there, so I've gotten this Probook 440 G2 from my relative. I've been using this for almost a year or so, however I just realised that I am suddenly unable use the bluetooth on my laptop. There is a bluetooth icon but when I clicked on it nothing happens. When I search the device manager and follow the instruction given on the internet. it seems I am missing all bluetooth related drivers. I went and download Broadcom Bluetooth Software, but it didn't work and said No bluetooth device is detected. What can I do?

p.s I remember connecting bluetooth with my phone to my laptop once or twice when I first gotten the laptop.

Hi:

What model wifi adapter does your notebook come with?

You install the corresponding model bluetooth driver for the model wifi adapter your notebook has.

If your notebook does not have a Broadcom wireless adapter, then the Broadcom bluetooth driver won't work.

Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11 bgn Wi-Fi Adapter

Is this correct, i found this in the network adapter.

Hi:

Yes, if that is the model wifi adapter your notebook has, then you would need to install this bluetooth driver for it.

This package contains the driver installation package for the Realtek Bluetooth in the supported notebook/laptop models that are running a supported operating system.

Hm.. I downloaded it but there is no response, it closes itself. Typed in bluetooth in the search program and files and nothing pops up. Pressed the bluetooth icon too but there is no response.

Hi:

Unfortunately, I wouldn't know why the driver won't install, or what to do about it.

That is the BT driver you need for the Realtek bluetooth adapter.

You can try an older version of the driver, but I doubt it will make a difference.

yep, didn't work either. I even tried to go to the troubleshooting in the control panel, and there is no sign of any bluetooth either. It is very weird

See if installing the HP connection manager software allows you to turn on the bluetooth radio, or it will at least give you a status of the device.

Restart the PC after installing the software.

This package provides the HP Connection Manager for supported notebook models running a supported operating system.

Alright! Good news! I am able to turn on my bluetooth on my pc now. But it has problem finding my phone even though I've made it discoverable, my phone is unable to find my laptop too.

Hi:

Did you make your laptop discoverable as well?

If not, you need to.
