HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-dk0618nd

Hello, my name is Axel.

I have an hp pavillion gaming laptop that has a problem and I cannot figure out how to fix it.

It has to do with both shift keys not working. I have tried everything I know and could find online.

- It's not the sticky keys they have been turned off before I started to encounter this problem.

- It's not the drivers (i have removed them and restarted, redownloaded the drivers and updated them).

- When I run my laptop in safe mode I also cannot use my shift keys.

- When I open my Bios and go to keyboard test, the shift keys just dont respond.

- I also removed a key to check if there was a lot of dust beneath it, but after cleaning it still didnt respond.

Also, sometimes when I hold the keys for 10-15 seconds they start working for 5 seconds and then stop again. Can someone explain how that works?

Do you have any tips? I would appreciate some help

- Axel

Hi @Axel16299,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

I understand that this is Hardware issue. But the support here is limited to software troubleshooting. However, since the unit might need repair, I would request you to contact HP Phone support who would have an option to schedule a repair as per the warranty and the issue can be fixed.

For that to happen, we will give you additional instructions/information via Private Message.

Please check your inbox on the forums page for the private message.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
