HP Envy x360 16 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 16-ac0000 (8Z1Z8AV)

Someone please help. I'm getting so stressed out. I bought my new laptop and I've been trying to get it all set up and I bought with it, the 12month +3 McAfee livesafe package. However, i can't find a set up for the package and when I open McAfee, it just keeps trying to charge me for more services but i've already paid for a package! Bit annoyed there's no further information on how to set this up and sort it.

@KLP1310, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Setting Up McAfee LiveSafe on Your HP Envy x360!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Locate McAfee Installation Instructions: Often, the instructions for setting up bundled software can be found within the documentation provided with your laptop purchase. This may include specific setup steps or activation codes. Check your packaging or any emails you may have received from HP.

Check Your Email for Activation Code: Once you purchase McAfee LiveSafe, an activation code is typically sent to you via email. Look for an email from HP or McAfee.

Download McAfee LiveSafe:

  • If McAfee LiveSafe is not pre-installed, you can download it from the McAfee website. Visit the McAfee website and log in with the credentials you created when purchasing the package.
  • Navigate to the section for downloading your software and download the McAfee LiveSafe installer.

Install McAfee:

  • Run the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen instructions to install McAfee LiveSafe on your computer.

Activate Your Subscription:

  • Once installed, open McAfee LiveSafe.
  • There should be an option to 'Activate' or 'Enter Activation Code'. Click on this and enter the activation code you received via email.
  • Follow the remaining steps to complete the activation process.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

This reply hasn't helped.

I've not been emailed or posted any activation codes and no instructions were sent with my laptop other than the instructions and paperwork for the laptop itself.

I've even waited a few days to see if the information was just delayed getting to me.

I'm quite cross now as I've paid for 15 months of livesafe and currently I'm not accessing it and have no way of knowing how to get it. I've not even been contacted to let me know if there's an issue. I just haven't been sent anything. I've checked all the emails and paperwork.

How do I resolve this? And if it can't, how do I get a refund because I have my receipt and refuse to pay for a product I'm not actually given use off! Pretty frustrated now.

@KLP1310, I hear you — and I’m really sorry you’ve been left in the dark like this. After unboxing a shiny new laptop, the last thing you want is to be stuck hunting for something you’ve already paid for. Let’s get this sorted.

First, if McAfee came bundled with your laptop, the activation key is usually preloaded in the system or included in a digital offer that appears the first time you power on and connect to the internet. But if that didn't pop up, it’s understandably frustrating.

Here’s what you can try right away:

HP Support Assistant: Open it from your Start Menu and check for “My Subscriptions” or “Included Software.” Sometimes the McAfee key hides in there.

HP Digital Delivery App: Search for this in your apps — some preloaded software keys (like McAfee) are sent through it.

Your HP Account: Go to https://support.hp.com, sign in with the account used during setup, and check your registered device for any available downloads or software keys.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Im at my wits end now. I cant seem to get a hold of any customer service. I've tried all your suggestions. The hp digital delivery app you mentioned doesn't even exist!! I have my invoice and payment history clearly showing what I've paid for and I haven't recieved it.

Please give me an actual solution I've spent days going in circles. Looking everywhere that's been suggested and I can't seem to talk to a person about my issues. Ive never had such a screw up situation with hp before this!
