Son-in-law purchased a new laptop HP Notebook - 15-bs234wm. He asked me to help him burn his videos that we transferred from a SD card into his video folder on his laptop. I know he has Windows 10 on his laptop. I can get more information on Operating System and Product information if necessary. He has the Notebook at his house at this time. We put the dvd-r in the drive and followed the instructions. It seemed to go through the process and when it was done we tried to play it on the TV and it won't play on tv. the files come up but it comes up with error message. We are not very knowledge on computers so we were looking for instructions on how to burn videos to a DVD-R and play on a tv. Can anyone give us instructions on burning a DVD-R with videos to play on a tv, and tell us whether this model of Notebook is capable of burning a DVD-R or do we to install software? I appreciate all of your help. Thank you.

Banhien,
Thank you for the step by step instructions and the links. I am printing a hard copy and will send the links to my son-in-law so he and I can work on burning our videos to a DVD-R. It was exactly what the help I was looking for. I appreciate it.

for Banhien,
The computer did not have CyberLink Power Media Player. So I went to the link you provided to download and install it. That worked and I was able to follow the instructions you provided for Creating a Video Disc to a point. When I got to step 5 that read that in the From: box, select the folder to be burned, I had a problem. I went to my video file and selected the video I wanted to burn. I got an error message that said This file wasn't a DVD folder. What does this mean and what did I do wrong. Can you help explain what a dvd folder is and how do I take my videos that I downloaded from a sd card to my computer and make them dvd folders. Thank you for all of your help.
