I've been using Probook 440 G6 for the last 5 yrs. Initially everything was fine. But for the last 2 yrs, the brightness adjusting is not happening when the respective keys are used. My laptop is on Windows 11 Version 23H2 (OS build 22631.3880). I dont get 23H2 version in the HP support (22H2 is the latest available one on the site). HP Diagnostic tools shows available BIOS version but when I triggered the update, it was not happening and still shows the old version. My present BIOS version is 1.20.00, latest available is 1.28. Can anyone please share your thoughts in fixing my brightness adjustment issue.Thanks.

To update the BIOS, you only need to download the file from the support page of the model and double click on the file and follow the steps.
But first for the keyboard I recommend you to download the following file

Thank you for your reply Resistencia. I already tried manually downloading and installing those files (both BIOS and hotkey package) but for some reason, installations were not successful.
BIOS update was not happing and was still picking the old version. And, when I double clicked the the hot key installation package, got installer dialog, proceeded as it guided but I didn't get any completion confirmation dialog or ended with errors confirmation etc. No response in the end. I also checked in the add/remove programs for the hot key package and there is no such program in the installed programs list, which means installation was unsuccessful, right?
Is this behavior due to any incompatibility between windows version and the package versions? My OS is on win 11 23H2.
Thanks,

The hot key is not a program, it is a driver for the special keys from F1 to F12 so that they can function correctly. Check the Device Manager for unrecognized drivers.
