Need a bit of assistance. I am trying to take songs from various CDs that I have, and copy those songs (burn them) to a blank CD-R. From what I have read on various websites I should be able to do this. My laptop is a model HP 15-1222wm. Okay, so I pick up some blank CD-Rs (they did not carry CD-RWs). I put my source CD into my drive, so far no issues (CD plays like it should). I then I copy a couple of songs to my computer, again it appears that everything is okay. I then burned these songs onto a blank CD-R, so far so good. When I attempt to play the new CD, Windows Media says it does not recognize the file format (song will not play from either the copied song on My Computer, nor the newly burned CD). I tried a different CD player, no luck. What am I doing wrong?

No,direct copy songs from CD to HDD then copy to another CD won't work because they will have different file format. You have to use software to rip selected songs to your HDD and then burn them to other CD.
