HP Pavilion 15-r002tu
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I'm trying to install Windows 7 x64 on my Pavilion 15 laptop. Setup boots fine from my USB but it asks me for a CD/DVD driver that isn't available off the installation medium. If I click Cancel, it won't let me continue on with setup without the driver. Here is my CD/DVD drive model from Device Manager:

  • HP DVDRAM GU90N SCSI CDROM Device

Is there an .inf file that I can download and use during the setup so that the installation wizard can install the driver? Thanks.

Hi:

Make sure you go into the BIOS and enable legacy mode, which disables secure boot.  W7 cannot install or run with secure boot enabled.

I can't find any specs on your notebook on the support page.  If it has a USB2 port, make sure you are booting from that.

What it really needs is the USB3 drivers when you are trying to boot from a usb 3 port.

If your notebook only has USB3 ports, run this utility (there is a readme file with instructions on the link).

The utility has to be run on a PC with W8.1 or W10.
