Hello HP Support Team,

I am facing an issue with my HP Victus Gaming Laptop 15-fa0555TX (805X2PA). The built-in camera is not working, and it does not appear in the Device Manager, even after selecting “Show hidden devices.”

It seems that the camera drivers are missing or not installed properly on my Windows 11 system. I have already:

  • Checked Windows Updates (system is up to date)

  • Scanned for hardware changes in Device Manager

  • Tried installing drivers using HP Support Assistant

  • Restarted the laptop multiple times

However, the camera still does not show up or function.

I would appreciate your assistance in:

  1. Providing the correct camera driver download link or software package for my model.

  2. Guiding me through the process of restoring or reinstalling the camera driver in Windows 11.

Thank you for your support.

Hi @Madhukar2004,

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Victus Gaming Laptop 15-fa0555TX camera is not being detected in Device Manager, even after trying Windows updates and HP Support Assistant. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check Camera Privacy Settings
Press Windows + I → Select Privacy & securityCamera.
Ensure “Camera access” and “Let apps access your camera” are both turned On.

Enable Camera from BIOS
Restart your laptop and repeatedly press F10 to enter the BIOS setup.
Under the Security or Advanced tab, ensure the Camera/Integrated Webcam option is enabled. Save changes and exit.

Scan for Hardware Changes in Device Manager
Open Device Manager → Click on ActionScan for hardware changes.
Check under Cameras, Imaging devices, or System devices for any new entries.

Reinstall HP System Driver Packages
Go to HP Support → Drivers & Software for your model (Victus 15-fa0555TX).
Download and install the latest HP System Event Utility and HP Universal Camera Driver (if available). Restart your laptop after installation.

Check for Windows Optional Updates
Go to Settings → Windows Update → Advanced options → Optional updates.
If you see any driver updates, especially related to imaging or system devices, install them.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics
Restart your laptop and tap F2 continuously to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.
Run a Component Test → Camera to confirm if the hardware is being detected at the BIOS level.

I hope this helps.
