I am facing a major issue with the integrated webcam on my HP Victus laptop. The camera is completely non-functional, and the camera driver is entirely missing from the Device Manager.

I have already thoroughly followed the standard troubleshooting steps listed in previous community threads (including the solutions provided by Max3Aj), but nothing has worked. I also contacted Windows tech support, and after troubleshooting, they concluded it is a manufacturer-level or hardware issue and instructed me to contact HP Support directly.

Here is a list of everything I have already tried:

  1. Device Manager: Checked "Show hidden devices". The 'Cameras' / 'Imaging devices' section is completely gone (it doesn’t even show up greyed out). Scanning for hardware changes does nothing.

  2. Windows Update: System is fully up to date, and I have checked "Advanced options > Optional updates". No camera or imaging drivers are available there.

  3. HP Support Assistant: Ran a full system scan and check for updates. It says everything is up to date and does not detect a camera issue.

  4. BIOS Settings: Booted into the BIOS (F10) to see if the integrated camera was disabled at the motherboard level, but I couldn't find a toggle for it, or it showed as enabled.

  5. System Scans: Ran sfc /scannow via Command Prompt as an administrator; no corrupted files were found.

  6. Privacy Settings: Checked Windows privacy settings, and camera access is allowed for the device and apps.

Since Windows Support has pointed towards an HP-specific driver conflict or a potential hardware disconnection, I would appreciate any advanced solutions or guidance on how to force the system to recognise the camera hardware again.

Thank you in advance for your help!
