I set up a zoom call a few weeks ago with someone and my computer said there was not a camera detected. Which is strange because I used the camera in the last few months. I was chatting with someone in microsoft and he said I needed to contact HP to download a link for the driver but I cannot find out how to do that. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @Rosie723,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop's camera!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

  1. Enable the camera in Settings. Go to Settings → Privacy & security → Camera, and make sure "Let apps access your camera" is turned ON. Also, check that Zoom (or other apps) have access.

  2. Check Device Manager. Press Win + X → Click Device Manager. Expand Imaging Devices or Cameras. If you see your camera listed, right-click and select Enable device (if disabled). Right-click again, select Update driver, and search automatically. If the camera is missing, click View → Show hidden devices. If still missing, move to the next step.

  3. Reinstall the camera driver. In Device Manager, right-click your camera and select Uninstall device. Restart your laptop, and Windows should reinstall it automatically. Alternatively, go to the HP Support Website, enter your laptop model (15-Dy1071wm), and look under the Driver – Camera section to download and install the latest driver.

  4. Check Windows Update. Open Settings → Windows Update and click Check for updates. Install any pending updates.

If the camera is still not detected, it could be a hardware issue. Try using an external USB webcam (if availabe) to see if the problem is specific to the built-in camera. Let me know if you need more help! 😊
