@Hope107, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with your HP Victus laptop’s camera. The error 0xA00F4244 typically means Windows cannot detect the camera hardware. Since your laptop has an inbuilt webcam that worked previously, let’s go through a few steps to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve this:

Check Camera in Device Manager

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Imaging Devices or Cameras.
  • If you don’t see your camera listed:
    • Click View > Show hidden devices.
    • Look under USB devices or System devices for anything resembling a camera.
    • If still missing, proceed to next steps.

Enable Camera in BIOS

Sometimes the camera is disabled at the firmware level.

  • Restart your laptop and press Esc or F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS.
  • Look for Advanced > Device Configuration or similar.
  • Ensure Integrated Camera is Enabled.
  • Save and exit BIOS.

Check Privacy Settings

  • Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera.
  • Make sure Camera access for this device is On.
  • Also ensure Allow apps to access your camera is enabled.

Reinstall Camera Driver

  • In Device Manager, right-click any camera-related entry and choose Uninstall device.
  • Restart your laptop. Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.
  • If not, download the driver manually:
    • Visit the HP support page and enter your exact model number.
    • Download and install the Camera Driver under “Driver – Keyboard, Mouse, and Input Devices”.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

Windows Camera App Reset

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
  • Search for Camera, click the three dots, and choose Advanced Options.
  • Click Reset.

If none of the above steps work, it’s possible the camera hardware is disconnected or faulty. In that case, please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
Kindly follow this link to locate the nearest HP service center: HP® Service Center Locator - India | HP® Support
(Select the country from the dropdown menu and enter the city name or pincode)

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
