Hi @Laohu1,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
We understand how concerning it is when your HP Spectre x360 13.5" 2-in-1 Laptop PC (14-ef0000) camera suddenly stops working, especially during something as important as a sign-up process. Let’s walk through this together and get your camera functioning again.
Steps to Resolve Webcam Issues
1. Check the Webcam Privacy Key
Your Spectre x360 may have a physical shutter or keyboard shortcut to disable the camera.
- Look for a camera icon key on the keyboard.
- Press the camera key (often F8) or Fn + F8 to toggle the camera on.
2. Enable Camera in Windows Settings
- Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.
- Make sure Camera access is turned on.
- Scroll down and ensure apps like Camera, Zoom, or Teams have permission.
3. Check Device Manager
- Press Windows + X, then select Device Manager.
- Expand Imaging Devices or Cameras.
- If the camera is listed, right-click and choose Enable (if disabled).
- If not listed, click Action > Scan for hardware changes.
4. Update or Reinstall Camera Driver
- In Device Manager, right-click the camera and select Update driver.
- If that doesn’t help, choose Uninstall device, then restart your laptop to reinstall it automatically.
5. Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics
- Restart your laptop and press Esc, then F2.
- Run the Webcam Connection Test to check for hardware issues.
