I bought the chromebook from HP store 4 months back. I find that using chromebook is extremely difficult. HP smart, McAfee etc. and many more such essential softwires don't work. Can I return this and purchase another HP laptop?

Hello, and Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I have an HP ChromeBook, and use it daily.  I'm quite happy with it!  One of the reasons I'm pleased with it is the fact that I knew when I purchased it, that it runs "ChromeOS" as its OS (Operating System).   I knew that meant programs that use Windows as an OS will not install or run on it.  There are many apps designed for ChromeOS that can read and edit Windows data files, and can make printing easy to do.

That said, it's unfortunate you may not have realized what you were buying, and now have some remorse...

I/we don't work for HP (this is a Volunteer-based Forum) and have no way to assist you in returning your device.

I honestly believe returning a fully-functional device after 4 months for a refund or credit will not be possible.  You can try contacting the store you purchased it from and see what their rules are.
