Product: HP Spectre x360 Convertible Laptop PC 14-ea0023dx
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Ext HD was failing. On restart, laptop started a Chkdsk that showed a huge Stage 1 (nearly 1 million). It got stuck at 24%, started stage 1 again w only 3507. It has run over 12 hours and shows an ETA of 35. I'm afraid my data is being destroyed or overwritten. Dare I stop it?
