Problem: I can't add a local user. Once i click add another user it says.. An error is shown which says "this snapin may not be used for this version of windows"

I am using a windows 10 home single language.

I think i messed up upon enabling the administrator user and accidentally deleting the default local user named "HP" instead of renaming it. I have a brand new laptop. I tried system restore and reset but the problem still exist. Please Help.

Hard to read the screenshots -- but it looks like the first one is pointing to the Group Policy Editor -- and the problem is that will not work with Win10 Home, as the Pro version or better is required.

If you have access to a login that is part of the Administrators Group, then what MIGHT work is unhiding the default Adminstrators Account, logging in under that, and seeing if you can add the user there.

See here for details:  https://www.ghacks.net/2014/11/12/how-to-enable-the-hidden-windows-10-administrator-account/

I don't need to unhide the administrator account because I'm already using it. In fact, as I've mentioned in my post, the problem started when I activated it. The screenshots from the previous post are from the administrator account, under that account, I can't add a local user. I also tried adding a guest user account by following the instructions from your link but even though the command was completed successfully, I still can't find the guest user account. Upon turning on my computer, it only shows "Administrator" sign in.. There is no guest sign in option.  Also, there is no way for me to sign in to my microsoft account.

Did you try Settings --> Accounts --> Family & other users -- to add an account there?

Yes that's how I discovered I cannot add another user.

Sorry, I've run out of ideas.

If this is a new PC, you paid for free HP Tech Support as part of the warranty coverage, so you might as well make use of it.

Unfortunately, we are NOT HP Tech Support and we have no way to diagnose or repair your PC, so while this PC is still under warranty, you should contact HP Customer Support directly to have them put you in touch with HP Technical Support to see what they can do about troubleshooting and repairing your machine remotely.

I did this recently and the HP Tech was able to remotely access my PC from the Internet to check out the problems.

If you live in the US or Canada, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

NOTE: After you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to some one -- it can take a while!
