HP ENVY x360 14 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 14-es0000 (743T0AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I have a pair of Soundcore life Q30 headphones that I've connected to this laptop many times. Last night they weren't connecting, so I removed the headphones, put them into pairing mode, and tried to add them back. The headphones didn't appear on the Bluetooth page on my laptop's settings. I have tried factory-resetting the headphones, restarting my laptop, updating it, fully charging both my headphones and laptop, scanning for Bluetooth driver updates, and running Microsoft's automatic diagnostics and troubleshooting program. None of these have helped, nor have they indicated that anything is wrong with my laptop's Bluetooth. Is there anything I can do? I don't think it's a problem with the headphones; they have no issue connecting to my other devices.

Hi @owen-412,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I understand you've already done a thorough job troubleshooting! Since your Soundcore Life Q30 headphones are not appearing in the Bluetooth list on your HP ENVY x360 14-es0000 running Windows 11, but work fine with other devices, the issue likely lies with the Bluetooth stack or pairing cache on your laptop.

Here are some advanced steps you can try:

 1. Fully Reset the Bluetooth Stack on Windows

This clears out any corrupted pairing data:

  1. Press Windows + X → select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Bluetooth.
  3. Right-click each Bluetooth device (especially “Intel Wireless Bluetooth” or similar) and choose Uninstall device.
  4. Check the box that says “Delete the driver software for this device” if available.
  5. Restart your laptop — Windows will reinstall the drivers automatically.

2. Clear Bluetooth Cache via Registry (Advanced)

⚠️ Only proceed if you're comfortable editing the registry.

  1. Press Windows + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
  2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BTHPORT\Parameters\Devices
  3. Right-click the Devices folder and export it as a backup.
  4. Delete all subkeys under Devices (these are cached pairings).
  5. Restart your PC and try pairing again.

3. Use Bluetooth Command Line Tools (Optional)

You can use a tool like Bluetooth Command Line Tools to forcefully remove ghost pairings or scan for devices.

4. Try Pairing via Bluetooth Settings App Instead of Quick Settings

  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Add device > Bluetooth.
  • Make sure the headphones are in pairing mode and close to the laptop.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
