CAN'T INSTALL HO NETWORK CHECK FOR IE
It doynloads and appears to install.
But there is no indication in IE.
And the HP Message alert never goes away.
I don't use IE unless forced to, like here.

I had the same problem. I kept getting the same message after I had installed the HP Network Check for Internet Explorer. After restarting the computer, I still got the message. Then I opened the HP Support Assistant window and clicked on "Check for Updates and Messages". The message went away.

Hi @CKHedges,
Thank you for posting at HP Forums! I have read your post and wanted to help.
I understand that you want to remove the HP Message alert. Is the HP Message alert from the HP Support Assistant?
HP PCs - Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 10, 8, 7)
Or is it the HP Battery Alert?
Looking forward to your reply!

Hi @CKHedges,
Thank you for the reply!
Click Settings on the top of HP Support Assistant window. The Settings window opens.
Uncheck the option of "Display an icon in your taskbar. The icon wil change, based on the type of message or update."
Restart your laptop. And the message notification should be gone.

Hi @CKHedges,
If you do no want to miss other notification, you can just delete the update you do not want to have.
Open the Update window, and click the "X" to delete the update.
Is the update about the newest IE browser? You can always download the newest IE browser from Internet, and if you do not use it, you can remove it from Programs and Features in Contral Panel.
