Last week I tried to reinstall HP Support Assistant because it was stuck on a BIOS update.
However, installing doesn't work on my system (Windows 11, 22H2, build 22621.1702). After unpacking is done, I get this message:
"This version of HP Support Assistant appears to be incompatible with your operating system.
You can donwload a legacy version of HP Support Assistant on our website."
Tried installing that legacy version by the way, however absurd it seems to me since I'm running the most recent Windows version out there. Anyhow, this did nothing. Couldn't find the app anywhere, so I suppose installation failed.
How can I get HP Support assistant installed on my system?

More important than whether HP Support Assistant can be reinstalled,
Did the system recover from the "stuck" BIOS update ?

Moving on...
True -
HP Support Assistant is a nice product that generally supports both consumer and commercial products.
HPSA sometimes has trouble with BIOS updates.
All other things equal, the HPSA would normally (re)install after having been properly uninstalled.
No - I don't know the reason you cannot install the app.
That said, I've not used (or installed) the HPSA on any of my business class systems for a long time.
Perhaps the following will help...
Make sure the HPSA is completely uninstalled:
Because you tried to install the legacy version of the HPSA, do check / uninstall the software from Programs and Features
App version of the HPSA would be located in Settings > Apps > Installed Apps
Next,
Run Windows Updates
If you wish to do so, check for Optional updates
Switch Fast Start OFF
Shut down the system
Restart computer

Hello Dragon-Fur,
Thanks for your reply. As far as I can tell I completely uninstalled any version of HP Support Assistant. Unless I have to deleted soms registry keys manually or something, I haven't gone that far.
For the time being I'll wait if another user, that has encountered and solved my problem with Support Assistant, chimes in. I don't feel like resorting to alternatives like Image Assistant just yet.
