Microsoft Windows 11

I cannot log into the HP Support Assistant.  My devices are still showing in the app, but only when I use it as Guest.  The login button doesn't work.  It brings up a blank window and no error message.  Have removed the app and re-installed it several times.  HP Support says I should restore the OS.  However, what I did instead was upgrade from Windows 11 Home to Windows 11 Pro, since I'd been planning to do so.  But after the upgrade I still have the same issue.

No one else seems to be having this issue.  Laptop is an HP Envy x360 with Windows 11 Pro.  I guess it's ok I can use it as Guest, but it's annoying not to have this app work correctly.

@sc0ttingham, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Support Assistant Login Issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It seems you are facing an issue with the HP Support Assistant where the login button does not respond properly. Here are several steps and considerations to troubleshoot this problem:

Check for Updates: Ensure that both Windows 11 Pro and HP Support Assistant are updated to their latest versions. Sometimes issues like this can occur due to outdated software.

Reset HP Support Assistant:

  • You can try resetting HP Support Assistant to its default settings. Open HP Support Assistant and go to the application settings to perform a reset. This might resolve any configuration issues that could be causing login problems.

Check Internet Connection: Ensure your internet connection is stable, as HP Support Assistant requires a connection for login and other functionalities.

Compatibility Issues: Since you recently upgraded from Windows 11 Home to Windows 11 Pro, check for any compatibility issues that might have arisen with HP Support Assistant. Sometimes, changes in the system configuration can affect application behavior.

Security Software: Check if any security software or firewall settings are preventing HP Support Assistant from accessing the network. Ensure you have allowed HP Support Assistant through your firewall.

Reinstall HP Support Assistant Correctly:

  • Uninstall HP Support Assistant completely.
  • Make sure to restart your laptop after uninstallation.
  • Download the latest version from HP's official website.
  • Install it again and check if the issue persists.

User Account Control (UAC): Verify that User Account Control settings in Windows are not interfering with the application. You might try lowering UAC settings temporarily to see if it resolves the issue.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
