HP Envy 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently purchased a HP Envy 15 laptop, and I wanted to run some games on it using the trackpad. However, I very quickly realised that my trackpad disabled whenever I pressed a key, obviously causing some issues. I have tried disabling SmartSense but that hasn't solved the problem. Is there any way that I can solve this?

Hi @strawbeejam,

A warm welcome to HP Community!

We might be able to resolve the issue by removing the existing touchpad drivers and then installing a compatible driver. Here is how to do it:

Please make sure that the system BIOS is up to date, if you are unsure, you may use the steps available here to update the BIOS.

1.) In Windows, search for and open "Device Manager".

2.) Double-click "Mice and other pointing devices".

3.) Right-click the touch pad device and select "Uninstall". Please make sure that you check the box "Delete driver software for this device"

Once the driver is removed, download and install the latest TouchPad driver from here

Let me know how it goes!

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution and Kudos buttons, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Have a great day!
