I am trying to speed up the laptop as it is relatively new (1.5 years) but was running quite slowly and does not have any major downloads or applications to explain it running slowly. I have spoken to Windows and they have installed the latest version of windows as well as run diagnostic tests and performed some operations to try and speed things up but they also suggest contacting hp to upgrade the bios which is a 2017 version.
Can you please help with this?

Hi:
A BIOS update is not going to speed up the PC.
You need to either add more memory to it or change the mechanical hard drive to a solid state drive.
You can download and install the latest BIOS update from your notebook's support page at the link below.
Read the release notes before installing it. Sometimes BIOS updates make things worse, not better.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for the reply and I will take your advice and upgrade the memory on the laptop. I think it is struggling running Windows 10 on 4 GB. I updated the BIOS anyway but it has not really made any difference.
Regards
