Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I am using audacity and want to record through the line in jack socket. It doesn't work at all. I have used this method on older hp laptops without any problem.

Thank you for your reply, I have tried all these options but I think the issue is with the laptop. I have two of these identical and line in always has a red cross on it in sound settings. All help is appreciated.
