Product: HP Chromebook - 14-db0023dx
Operating System: Chrome OS

My father has his Chromebook and has a hotspot with 5 gigs of data, i've turned off the Syncing in the OS, is there anything else i can do to reduce the Chromebook from using up a lot of data.

 

He just uses it to check Facebook and maybe google search for tools.

 

He doesnt watch youtube or any other videos.

 

Wondering if i should get a tablet ?

Using a hotspot uses LOTS of data.  We have seen ours go through 2GB of data in a single day!  If the Chromebook can use WiFi, then use that instead -- but not connected to the HotSpot.  Sorry, but there is  no way around this -- as I have tried extensively.

Thanks.

His only internet connection available that is affordable is a hotspot.

I've tried multiple settings also, just wanted to reach out to see if I missed anything.
