Hi,

I have 15g-dr0006tx, I have already installed Windows 11 without any problem and have been playing Valorant. Recently I got a pop up saying TPM 2.0 is missing and having issue with TPM 2.0. After checking the tpm.msc, I came to know that TPM 2.0 is missing. I don't know what happened and not able to restore back the previous version.

Does my laptop have the support for TPM 2.0?

Why did it recently got disabled?

Is it possible to enable it?

Is there any way to fix this issue?

Hi @Shakthi72,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 is often required for enhanced security features on Windows 11. If you are experiencing issues with TPM on your HP 15g-dr0006tx, here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Checking and Enabling TPM 2.0

Enter BIOS Setup:

  • Restart your computer.
  • As the computer restarts, repeatedly press the F10 key to access the BIOS setup utility.

Locate TPM Settings:

  • Navigate to the Security tab using the arrow keys.
  • Look for options related to TPM or Security devices. It could be labeled as "TPM Device" or "Security Chip".
  • Verify if the TPM 2.0 option is present and whether it is set to Enabled.

Enable TPM:

  • If available, change the TPM Device status to Available.
  • Set the TPM State to Enabled.

Save Changes:

  • Press F10 to save and exit from the BIOS settings. Confirm any prompts that require saving.

Verify TPM in Windows:

  • Once booted into Windows, press Windows + R, type tpm.msc, and press Enter.
  • The TPM Management window should open, displaying the TPM status and version.

Troubleshooting and Further Steps

  • If TPM is not found in the BIOS, it might mean that the laptop hardware does not support TPM or that it has been disabled due to a BIOS update or setting changes.
  • Double-check the HP product specifications on their official website to confirm if your specific model comes equipped with TPM 2.0.

Backup Data

Before making changes in BIOS, it might be beneficial to back up your data in case of unforeseen issues. Always ensure your files are saved before adjusting system settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi @Raj_05,

I have tried the method you suggested, it seems it doesn't help me.

Here is the output from BIOS > Security.

I can explain you again my problem.

I haven't checked tpm before, but I was able to Upgrade from Windows 10 to 11 (4 years back). I was playing Valorant for quite some time. Recently, I started facing this issue saying TPM 2.0 not found. Not sure, what might be issue. I did not modify anything in the BIOS. Only thing, I can remember that I made was accessing the old computer Hard disk in this Windows 11 (old one had Windows 7 or 8 installed in the disk, I tried recovering data from it.) Note sure, if might have caused the problem.

Is there any way to recover the TPM 2.0 back?

Now, I have the latest version of the BIOS.

Does downgrading the Windows would fix this issue?

Is there any way to install or add fTPM to my system?

Could a dead battery be a reason for this?

Is it possible to install TPM 1.2 atleast?
