Hello,
I got a new computer from Best Buy about two weeks ago. I have noticed lately whenever I turn it on after being on sleep mode the fan gets very loud and then the noise subsides. Today after turning it on it did the same thing. However, now when I plug it in to charge it the noise gets loud nonstop. I looked at task manager and it seems whenever I turn it on/plug it in, a task named SysInfoCap gets the CPU to about 33 percent and does this almost singlehandly. Does anybody else have this problem?

@DuckGuy
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
- Are you using any Linux app or software? If any you can uninstall the software.
- What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824 (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).
While you respond to that, let's try these steps:
Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8.
BIOS default:
- Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
- Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
- On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
- Press F10 to Save and Exit.
- Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
- Follow the prompts to restart your computer.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
