I have an OmniBook 7 that came with an HP Pen. The pen has two buttons and I'm trying to figure out how to configure the buttons on the pen. The built-in Windows pen settings only allows you to configure a single button on the pen. The only article available through HP is for the HP Pen Control app but it says that the app is deprecated and to use the myHP app. When I go into the myHP app, there's no pen configuration to be found. Does anybody know how to configure the HP Pen? Thanks!

@benbenben726, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

You're absolutely right, Windows' built-in pen settings only allow configuration of a single button, and the HP Pen Control app has been officially deprecated. However, there are still a couple of options you can try to configure both buttons on your HP Pen:

Option 1: Try Installing the HP Pen Control App (Even Though Deprecated)

While HP Pen Control is deprecated, it may still work for your device. You can download it from the Microsoft Store:

  1. Open the Microsoft Store on your OmniBook 7.
  2. Search for HP Pen Control.
  3. Click Get and follow the installation instructions.
  4. Once installed, open the app and you should see options to configure both the top and bottom buttons.

Option 2: Check the myHP App (Limited Support)

HP recommends using the myHP app for newer devices, but unfortunately, pen configuration is not available for all models. If you don’t see pen settings in the app, it likely means your device isn’t supported for that feature yet.

You can still use the myHP app for other device-specific settings and updates: HP PCs - Using the HP app | HP® Support

Option 3: Use Third-Party Tools (Advanced Users)

Using third-party tools like AutoHotKey to remap pen button functions can be helpful, but this requires scripting and may not be ideal for all users.

I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.

Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
