@Alexethio, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To connect your Kefeya S2 (Triple Laptop Screen Extender (14”), a portable triple-screen monitor) to your 17-inch HP laptop, follow these steps:
What You’ll Need:
- Your HP laptop (17-inch)
- The KEFEYA S2 unit
- Included cables (usually 2–3 USB-C to USB-C or USB-C to USB-A + HDMI)
- External power if your laptop doesn’t support USB-C video output
Step-by-Step Setup:
Mount the Extender
- Clip the KEFEYA S2 onto the back of your laptop screen.
- Make sure it's centered and stable on your 17-inch screen.
Connect the Screens
KEFEYA S2 usually supports USB-C or HDMI + USB-A connections:
- If your laptop has USB-C with DisplayPort support:
Use the included USB-C to USB-C cable(s).
Plug into your laptop's USB-C ports. Both power and video will be carried through these. - If your laptop doesn’t have USB-C with video:
Use the HDMI + USB-A combo for each screen. - Connect:
- HDMI → video signal
- USB-A → power and touch (if applicable)
- You might need to use two HDMI ports or a USB-C to HDMI adapter/hub if your laptop has only one HDMI port.
Install Drivers (if prompted)
- Windows may auto-install drivers.
- If not, download the latest drivers from KEFEYA’s [official site or user manual QR code].
Configure Displays
- Right-click desktop → Display settings
- You should see multiple screens detected (1, 2, 3).
- Rearrange them as per physical layout.
- Choose "Extend these displays".
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I have a HP 17-cn2xxx and I too am trying to set-up a S2.
The left side works which is connected via the HDMI and the USB.
The right side is connected via the USB-C; however, the screen on the right monitor is black.
If I reinsert the cables from the USB-C on the laptop to the monitor nothing happens.
Prior to connecting the USB-C to the other monitor, I used the USB-C for an ethernet connection, which actually works.
How can I get the other monitor to work?

Hi @Alexethio,
Thank you for the response
Since @Max3Aj is not available at the moment, I'll be assisting you further.
Thanks for reaching out. You're doing most of the setup correctly, and I’ll help you troubleshoot.
Try These Steps:
Check USB-C Port Capabilities:
Refer to your HP 17-cn2xxx user manual or specs page.
If it says “Data only” or “Power + Data”, then it does not support video out.
If it says “DisplayPort Alt Mode” or “Thunderbolt”, it should work with external displays.
Workaround if USB-C doesn’t support video:
Use a USB-C to HDMI adapter (or USB-C hub with HDMI) for the right monitor.
Then connect HDMI → KEFEYA S2 monitor and USB-A → power, like you did with the left side.
Display Configuration:
Once connected, go to:
Right-click Desktop → Display Settings
Click "Detect" if the third screen doesn’t show up.
Ensure “Extend these displays” is selected.
Driver Check:
KEFEYA drivers might help improve detection or functionality.
Visit KEFEYA’s official website or scan the QR code in the product manual to download.
Let me know how it goes!

Thanks for the assistance but I still have a problem and let me be more specific with how things are connected.
On my laptop, I have the following:
1. USB-C from monitor to HDMI on laptop
2. USB-C from monitor to USB-A on laptop.
This configuration works fine and the monitor on the left is working fine. Based on this, what is your suggestion again for the other monitor? Here's why I ask this question.
I purchased a jCreate device that is a USB-C to HDMI & USB 3.0 with Power Delivery.
I used this to connect the
1. USB-C from monitor to HDMI on jCreate device
2. USB-C from monitor to USB-A on jCreate device
And the left monitor still doesn't power up like the left side does. NOTE: The right monitor does work because I tested it with the set-up side that does work.
Now with this full explanation. . .what's your suggestion.
BTW. . .how can I verify what the USB-C on my laptop is “Data only” or “Power + Data”
Thanks again for your assistance.

Hi @Peoples1,
Thanks for the clear and detailed update, that really helps get to the root of the issue faster.
Let’s break this down step-by-step so we can definitely get your KEFEYA S2’s second screen working with your HP 17-cn2xxx laptop.
Confirm Your USB-C Port Capability
Here’s how you can check:
Look for symbols near your USB-C port:
If it has a DP logo (DisplayPort icon) or a lightning bolt (Thunderbolt), it supports video output.
If there's only a battery or no symbol, it's likely power-only or data-only.
Use HP’s official spec sheet:
Visit the HP Support page.
Type your exact model number (e.g., 17-cn2000 or 17-cn2100) found on your laptop.
Go to "Specifications" > Ports & Connectivity.
Look for terms like:
“USB-C with DisplayPort 1.4”
“USB-C with Thunderbolt”
If it only says “USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 (data only)” → no video support.
Quick Reference:
Most HP 17-cn2xxx models unfortunately come with USB-C data only, not video out. This matches your issue.
Workaround – How to Get Both Monitors Working
Since your USB-C doesn’t support video output natively, the jCreate adapter likely won’t help unless it uses DisplayLink (USB graphics).
Use a DisplayLink Dock or adapter.
Use a USB-A to HDMI adapter that supports DisplayLink technology, like:
WAVLINK USB 3.0 to HDMI Adapter
Plugable USB 3.0 to HDMI (DisplayLink Certified)
How it works:
It converts USB-A data into video using DisplayLink drivers.
Works even if your laptop has no video-capable USB-C.
HDMI Splitter (Not Recommended Unless Mirroring Is OK)
HDMI splitters mirror displays, they don’t extend.
You want extended display, so this won’t solve your goal.
I hope this helps.

Well. . .After seeing your response and actually trying to find the connectors. . .I came back to your resolution; however, it doesn't really work. . .Here's why.
On my laptop, I have one (1) HDMI port, one (1) USB-C port, and two (2) USB-A ports.
So for the left monitor. . .
HDMI (computer) to USB - C on monitor
USB-A (computer to USB-C on monitor
We have already determined the USB-C (computer) doesn't work for display.
All I have left is the remaining USB-A on the computer.
So now you have the complete story.
Any other suggestions? BTW. . .I so appreciate your assistance with this dilemma.
